Spiritual Mediums

Never been a believer but the trouble and strife thought ‘why not’ and went to see a lady following a recommendation.
She secretly recorded the meeting.
The lady she met had no prior info on who she was seeing.
Basically my late mother came through and what was said was amazing.
Any WHOers have similar experiences?

I would just like to add I do not take criticism of my opinions personally. I have been a Christian from the age of 13/14 and a progressive follower for the last 35 years.
I am a doubting Thomas (excuse the pun) by nature and question everything. However, the more I learn about the Bible through sermons and Bible study, the more my faith has grown. I am blessed by the church I go to because they preach from the Bible. All sermons are tested to check that we stick to Bible teaching and that all interpretations are sound.
I am well aware that "Christianian' have not always behaved in a wise loving manner, and I am more than happy to acknowledge that. Furthermore there are a lot of people who claim to be Christians who do not act accordingly. I find politicians often claim to be Christian and their policies are far from Christian.

Yeah, I'm sad about chiff having to fight his battle, and hope he wins it.
But he doesn't have to argue his case, and if he does argue it, my response can't change because he's ill,
Can respect his bottle, though.

I'm pretty sure chiff's right on this.
But Christians used the texts against witches to burn people (mostly women) with genuine medico-botanical knowledge alongside frauds who claimed to speak with the dead.
Not a great triumph. And the death penalty for fraud is a bit harsh, anyway.

How i would explain the information divulged by the medium is the same as that classic 1990 movie ghost.
The medium mentioned the word ‘ditto’ and only Sam and I ever knew that word.

I have deleted what I have to say about the bible, not my place if it brings comfort to people and doesn't rip them off....

So instead of using the opportunity to give the living a real insight into the afterlife and what's it's like to die, all he could be bothered to do is make some pointless reference to his lost arm.
If ghosts are as thick as mediums make them out to be think I'd rather skip the afterlife.

These chancers prey on the weak, and the 'skill' they have is not talking to the dead, FFS, it's asking loaded questions in a certain way so they get to the answers they need. Quite how any sane person hasn't grasped this, in this day and age, is beyond belief.

I always feel a little bad when I ridicule those who believe in ghosts, as normally their story/experience involves a lost relative, but I find it really difficult not to take the piss out of them.

Firstly, what is the point of going to some oddball and being told information about your family and stuff that you already fucking know?
Secondly, if these people have such powers then why are they always such unkempt potless oddballs rather than rich oddballs? Can't they get some of the ghosts and that they chat with to at least tell them the fucking lottery result for next week?
why would a ghost know next weeks lottery results?
